The Event

Hackergarten evening in Lugano

Hackergarten is an open source programming group from Basel. Our goal is to create something that others can use; whether it be working software, improved documentation, or better educational materials. Our intent is to end each meeting with a patch or similar contribution submitted to an open and public project. All skill levels are welcome to come and participate. If you are interested in coding then please come out and spend some time helping the community.

On Friday 10/2 we will run an Hackergarten meeting in Lugano. On that evening we plan to work on an open source Google Web Toolkit (GWT) app designed for mobile browsers. The app (project name Hackergarten Mobile) is a basic checkin app for events and it already has a GitHub repo with backend services all ready to deploy, and we need a mobile front end accessible from Android or iOS devices.

Therefore, if you can help or want to learn about GWT and mobile web then show up with your laptop with GWT and Eclipse or IDEA installed. It doesn't matter what level of skill you have, whether you are a GWT expert or have never seen it before. To register to the event please send an email to hackergarten@exmachina.ch with your name, town and company.
